Within an hour’s drive of the city, some of the world’s finest links courses can be found so if you fancy combining a cultural vacation with a little golf, then The Place is the perfect base from which to head along the coast for a day to East Lothian, home of Muirfield and Gullane, or north across the Forth Road Bridge to St Andrews and the famous Old Course.
